We will proceed to our bus and start the day with a breakfast break. Then, after seeing the Historical Taş Köprü, which is located on the Seyhan River, panoramically, we go to Adana Sabancı Central Mosque, one of the region's most important mosques. After visiting this architectural marvel mosque, we bid farewell to Adana and head to Gaziantep. In Gaziantep, we first see Gaziantep Castle, built on a hill in the city center, panoramically. Although it is not known when the castle was built, it is known that it was used for observation purposes during the Roman period. The castle has been restored multiple times throughout history and took its final form due to a restoration carried out in the early 2000s. After a short photo break, we visit the shops like Sedefçiler, Baharatçılar, Vegetable Market, Historical Paşa Inn, Tahtani Mosque, Uzun Bazaar, Historical Customs Inn, Zincirli Bedesten, Kunduracılar Bazaar and reach the Bakırcılar Bazaar. In Halfeti, a part of which is submerged under the dam lake after the construction of Birecik Dam, we will take a boat tour on the beautiful waters. (Extra) During the tour of the dam lake, we will see the Sunken Minaret and Kral Kızı Cave, located underwater, as well as the mosque and minaret of Bilesur. After our boat tour, we will take a short break in Halfeti. Then we will proceed to Adıyaman. We will continue our journey towards the town of Kahta in Adıyaman. Upon arrival in Kahta, we will get on the minibuses waiting for us to reach Karakuş Tumulus, which is the burial site of King Mithridates and his family. After experiencing the stunning landscape with explanations from our guide, we will take our minibuses to Cendere Bridge, which is considered one of the most magnificent bridges of the Roman period built over the Cendere River. After a photo break here, we will begin our ascent to Nemrut Mountain, with an elevation of 2150 meters in the Eastern Taurus Mountains. At the summit of the mountain lies the Tumulus of King I. Antiochos. There are colossal statues of Zeus (Oromasdes), Apollon, Mithras, Helios, Hermes, Herakles, Artagnes, Ares, Kommagene, Tiche, and a statue of Antiochos built by King I. Antiochos himself on the East and West terraces. King I. Antiochos openly fortified the traditions of the Hellenistic-Persian culture he brought together in these works. After receiving the necessary information from our guide, we relish the view with the memory of Antiochos's last will; "My birthday will be celebrated every month and year and become a feast day. On these days, the chief priest, dressed in Persian attire generously provided by me and my laws, will put golden wreaths over all of us, burn scents abundantly, and offer sufficient sacrifices, and the sacred tables will be adorned with the finest foods and wines. My people will gather here and feast abundantly." Then, we will see the Four-Legged Minaret (Sheikh Mutahhar Mosque), built in 1500 by Akkoyunlu Kasım Bey and the Goat Tower, known to be the oldest of the 9000-year-old Diyarbakır walls, before going to Mardin Gate. After a break at the walls, we will head towards Batman and Hasankeyf. We will pass by the oil pumps in Batman, known for its first oil wells, and reach Hasankeyf. With a history dating back 12 thousand years, new settlements have been established 3 km away after the construction of Ilısu Dam. Since February 2020, Hasankeyf has been submerged under water. During our visit, we will share the sorrow of Hasankeyf and see the Hasankeyf Castle, the minaret of El Rızık Mosque, and the caves, after taking some free time. During the free time, guests can choose to join a boat tour on the Ilısu Dam to see the old Hasankeyf closely. (Extra) After our free time, we continue to Midyat, where languages and religions meet. In Mardin's arid and treeless geography, with its cool and clear water, trees, and greenery, we will have a short tea or coffee break at Beyazsu. Afterward, we will head to Dara Ancient City. Located 30 km southeast of Mardin, in the village of Oğuz, Dara Ancient City is one of the most important settlements in Upper Mesopotamia. We will explore Dara Ancient City, spread over a wide area and composed of rock-cut structures, with our guide. After our visit, we will head to our hotel. The monastery has the tombs of 52 Syrian Patriarchs. Accompanied by our guide, we will visit Mor Hananyo Church, the House of Saints, the Church of the Virgin Mary, and the Temple of the Sun, after which we will have some free time. The Deyrulzafaran Monastery, which has a majestic view over the Mardin Plain and amazing architecture, will certainly enchant you. After our visit, we will continue to Kasımiye Medrese. The shrine, which started construction during the Artuqid period and was completed in the late 15th century during the rule of Akkoyunlu Sultan Kasım İbn Cihangir, will be visited with information from our guide, followed by a visit to Old Mardin. We will get out of our vehicle at the Diyarbakır Gate and start a walk through the streets of Old Mardin. Our walk will begin at Cumhuriyet Square, where we will see Sheikh Çabuk Mosque, the Mardin Protestant Church, Latifiye Mosque, Sokulbar (Cow Market), and Bakırcılar Bazaar. Throughout our walking tour, we will visit the Mardin Ulu Mosque, which represents the architectural examples of the Artuqid period. The Mardin Ulu Mosque, with its segmented dome and minaret, has historically documented its existence as two-minaret. According to records, the existing only minaret was built in 1888/1889 in a new eclectic style, although some Syrian writers have suggested it was originally a church. Regardless of whether the structure was converted from a church, it is probable that an ancient church once stood at this location. After receiving information from our guide, we will proceed through the small tunnels connecting the streets, known as the Arches, and make our way to see Şahtana Mansion, which is an old mansion that once served as the PTT Building. Then, we will visit Şehidiye Mosque built in the early 13th century by Artuqid Sultan Melik Nasreddin Artuk Aslan and take a short break for some tea while enjoying the view of the Mesopotamian Plain. After our break, we will bid farewell to Mardin and head towards Şanlıurfa, the city of prophets where Hz. Ibrahim was born and thrown into fire, and where Hz. Eyüp went through his trials, and where Hz. Shuayb prayed. We will reach Göbeklitepe Höyüğü, which is located near the Örencik village of Şanlıurfa, known for hosting the first temples of both Anatolia and the world, and is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Since its discovery, it has changed not only the history of the region but also human history, dating back to 12,000 years ago. Göbeklitepe has recently been covered by National Geographic magazine worldwide with the slogan "The Place Where Religion Was Born." After receiving information about Göbeklitepe, which has only been slightly uncovered, we will head toward our hotel where dinner will be free for those who wish to participate in an extra cultural night. Balıklı Göl is located southwest of the Şanlıurfa city center and is known to be the spot where Prophet Ibrahim was thrown into the fire. It is among the most visited places in Şanlıurfa because of its sacred fish and historic sites surrounding it. We will see Balıklı Göl (Halil-Ür Rahman), formed at the spot where Hz. Ibrahim was thrown into fire, and Aynzeliha Lake, formed by the tears of Nemrut's daughter Zeliha, after obtaining information from our guide and taking a photo break.
