After the tour, we head to Marrakech. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we begin to explore the city which will take you back to centuries ago with its narrow streets. Marrakech derives its name from the word “mur akush” in the language of the Berbers, the oldest indigenous people of North Africa, meaning “Land of God.” Known for its famous red walls, Marrakech is also called the “Red City.” During our city tour, we will visit Bahia Palace, which provides a wonderful impression of what it means to be a noble in Morocco during the 19th century, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Majorelle Gardens, which host a collection of plants from around the world, and the heart of the city known as Djemaa El Fna Square. This city center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is known as a fishing port, as well as a calm coastal town where art and culture are intertwined. The city offers a relaxing getaway for its visitors, and a relatively tranquil atmosphere compared to Marrakech has attracted many world-famous artists like Cat Stevens, Jimi Hendrix, and Orson Welles over the years, making it a center for art and culture. The town has also hosted the filming of the famous Game of Thrones series. In our tour, we will visit the Essaouira ramparts, Essaouira Fortress, Essaouira Port, which has a fish market, and the famous Medina.
