Perast is a small yet historically and visually impressive town on the Adriatic Sea coast of Montenegro, known for its rich maritime history and many historic buildings and churches dating back to the Renaissance. The baroque-style buildings, constructed primarily in the 17th and 18th centuries, reflect Perast's historical and cultural richness. You can take beautiful photos here. Then, we will cross by boat to the island of Lady of the Rocks, located just offshore from Perast. The church on the island, locally known as Gospa od Škrpjela, was built in the 17th century. Lady of the Rocks is known as a place where prayers and wishes related to seafaring are fulfilled. According to legend, the island grew from a small rock, where fishermen began to throw stones they pulled from the sea, gradually increasing its size. After this visit, we will return to the mainland and head towards Kotor, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979, accompanied by the unique views of the Kotor Bay. We will explore the old town of Kotor, surrounded by walls dating back about 2000 years. Some important sites we will see include St. Tryphon Cathedral, the Maritime Gate adorned with the emblem of the Republic of Venice, the Flour Square known for its lively atmosphere surrounded by various cafes and restaurants, and the Nikola Đurković Monument. Finally, we will head towards Porto Montenegro, one of Europe’s most luxurious yacht marinas located in Tivat, which can be described as a complex containing luxury residences, hotels, upscale shops, and cafes rather than an ordinary yacht harbor.
